About Lesson
City logistics pursues two groups of goals:
1. Basic logistics goals:
  • satisfaction of customer needs (e.g. supply, waste collection, courier services),
  • optimization of logistics costs.
2. Specific objectives:
  • sustainable mobility, suitability of the environment for living, solutions for transport in emergency situations.

City logistics is based on the application of modern logistics principles (technologies) in the optimization of logistics and transport operations in cities.

The main benefit should be the reduction of traffic congestion in cities and the related reduction of the burden on the environment, especially noise and emissions.

The implementation is usually based on public-private partnership, mainly between logistic providers and local government.
