Environmental Dimension of Sustainable Mobility
The GreenComp framework fosters environmental literacy and action-oriented competencies that are essential for promoting sustainable urban mobility. By integrating ecological awareness and systems thinking, this dimension supports the transition to low-emission transport modes and resilient urban ecosystems.
0/1
Economic Dimension of Sustainable Mobility
GreenComp contributes to the economic sustainability of urban mobility by encouraging resource efficiency, circularity, and innovation. Competencies such as critical thinking and sustainable entrepreneurship empower stakeholders to develop cost-effective and environmentally responsible mobility solutions.
0/1
Social Dimension of Sustainable Mobility
In the social context, GreenComp enhances inclusive and participatory approaches to mobility planning. It supports equity, accessibility, and behavioral change through values-based learning and civic engagement, ensuring that mobility systems serve diverse urban populations fairly.
0/1
Institutional Dimension of Sustainable Mobility
GreenComp strengthens institutional capacity by promoting collaborative governance, strategic foresight, and policy coherence. It equips professionals and decision-makers with the skills to integrate sustainability principles into urban mobility frameworks and cross-sectoral partnerships.

About Lesson

Hello students

Welcome at the course deals with decision based on multiple criteria. I am Jiri Krupka and I would like to present my module which is focused on a multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) in transportation.

Certainly, you have met with a solving of a making good decision. You have listened about key words like a decision maker role, a set of criteria and alternatives, a decision table, criteria weights etc.

Why is understanding of MCDM important?

Because the MCDM reduces a subjective role of a decision maker. Because the decision making based on multiple criteria is closer to human reasoning.

In this module we will show and discuss knowledge which involves an application of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) developed by Thomas L. Saaty. The making of the good decision based on AHP requires a common sense and the matrix algebra elementary knowledge, only.

After completing this module:

You will understand the AHP algorithm and recognize its advantage.

You will practise to Saaty’s matrix design.

On the basis of this algorithm you will study how to choose the best alternative.

Are you interesting in the module? Follow me, please. Watch the video presentation; read the study material; study example and solve the case study.
