About Lesson
Introduction
This unit presents several challenges in Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) that may hinder the success of robots in commercial markets and daily life applications. Bartneck et al. identified the challenges that are presented in this section. These challenges consist of the likelihood that the design of robots could generate unrealizable expectations that eventually lead to dissatisfaction, excessive dependence on and addiction to robots, mishandling and ill-treatment of robots, and the diversion of people’s focus from other important matters due to interactions with robots.
